Artichoke Red. . .Pleasant Earth Soap is there!

It has been a gazillion days since our last post. . .and. . .uh. . .um. . .and we can't come up with a good excuse why other than we have been BUSY!

Let's just get right to the good stuff. We are extremely excited to let everyone know you can now purchase our coconut milk soaps at the wonderful Artichoke Red. They are a fantastic Vegan supermarket located in College Park, FL on Edgewater Drive. They carry everything vegan and vegetarian friendly from sprouting seeds to health and beauty to pet products. Although we are not vegan (I myself a former vegetarian) the vegan meatless snacks are very much enjoyed; Lime being a fav.

Our typical offerings that come in Goat and Soy milk you can find most available in coconut milk at Artichoke Red. Our Goat milk "Shea's of Honey & Oats" had to be brought to Vegan code. Now minus the honey and called "Shea & Oats". We also have available our salt bar line that includes Lavender, Rosemary Mint, and plain.

When you're in the area stop by Artichoke Red to do some grocery shopping. Staff is friendly and lots of options are available. Anything healthy and natural is okay in our book!

Do you know what's in your soap?

Most people do not realize that the skin can absorb in the upwards range of 60% of what is put on it, i.e. lotions, soaps, oils, cleaners, etc.. Depending on the ingredient and where it is placed on the body the skin can absorb as much as 100%. Did you know that what your skin absorbs can, and most likely will, get into your bloodstream. Think about that the next time you use Bath & Body Works lotions and what nots.

With the seeming influx of Cancer it has caused me to be more aware of what I put in and on my body. Over the last few years it has become more crucial that I learn more about the products and ingredients I purchase on a regular basis, and how important using all natural and organic products has become. I believe that it is extremely important to know, understand, and be able to pronounce the ingredients in the products that I consume internally and externally.

Now I must admit that there are some products that I have not given up but it is a work in progress. However, I do believe we should all do our part in trying bring the stuff we love back to the basics,   shopping local, and supporting your farmers markets.

Pleasant Earth Soap Company would like to stress that we do not use any artificial ingredients, hardeners, detergents, parabens, or any of the other crap you can not pronounce that may make you break out in hives and start convulsing on the floor. We only use essential oils, organic herbs, organic milks, and natural colorants that your skin will love, appreciate, and even give you a pat on the back to thank you. Can you say that about your soap?

Be sure to stop by our website for any of our wonderful soaps. And check out our Etsy shop to customize your own soap.

Lovers of the Licorice

Hmmm. . .black licorice! Some say it is an acquired taste and others can not get enough. Midnight of Anise is our latest creation of the season inspired by one of our customers. This goat milk base soap contains Activated Charcoal (This gives it the really cool black color), Anise essential oil with a touch of Lavender, and complete with a star on top.

Activated charcoal is known for helping to detoxify. It is effective in cleansing the skin, unclogging pores, and removing impurities and dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin. The result...drum roll please...supple, delicate and smooth skin. Get your beauty on!

Our First Soap Donation for a Wonderful Cause!

A few months back we were approached at the Lake Eola Farmers Market by Mr. Matt Gomez, Director of Marketing & Communications, from Clean the World. Clean the World is an awesome organization that is dedicated to help saving lives through recycling soap and donating them to countries in need. We had already learned about Clean the World from following them on Twitter and Facebook, so we already understood the nature of their wonderful organization. Mr. Gomez further explained their organization in detail which made us feel a bit of a deeper connection. Well, we are in the soap business! We were very excited to learn that we are able to donate our ends pieces and samples to aid in saving lives. We are happy to report that today was officially our first donation day. We were able to donate approximately 10lbs of soap and will continue to be regular contributors. Thank you Clean the World for helping to save lives all over the world.
